I haven't posted in quite a long time as you can see.

I'm still doing lamp working and fusing, but the beginning of this year I added to polymer clay to the mix.  I love it.  I get to "smoosh" my work instead of being scared of cuts and burns.

Lampwork Beads and Classes

Blogs, Lampwork, Beads, Glass, Dichroic, Jewelry, Life: "Sorry that I haven't been keeping up to date; but I have just been so busy with work and with life.
I went to Disneyland for four days the beginning of February when I went down to see my fibromyalgia doctor Dr. St. Amand. What a journey. I hadn't been there since high school - quite some time ago.
The ceramic beads turned out great and got out in a timely fashion and so it was back to lampworking and getting all of those great lampwork beads ready for my designers. What an inspiration!
I also gave a great lampwork class to a very enthusiastic student. Private lessons are surely the way to go for all.

Sanding Clay Cross Beads

Blogs, Lampwork, Beads, Glass, Dichroic, Jewelry, Life: "Have been working steadily on the beads. After the beads dry to a leather hard stage, I then put on the design. It takes a lot of time carving and imprinting the crosses on the beads.
Then, as the individual beads dry I am sanding them to further round the corners as Michelle wanted and to smooth the surface. Kind of reminds me about how hopefully our rough edges get smoothed in the daily ness of life. "

Clay Cross Beads and the Church of Saint John of Rochester

Blogs, Lampwork, Beads, Glass, Dichroic, Jewelry, Life: "I just added another page to show the progression of the clay cross beads that I am making for the Church of Saint John of Rochester. New pictures will be posted as the project progresses. Click here for the clay cross bead page.
I want to thank Michelle and everyone else connected for the privilege of being able to create this for them. It has been a wonderful peaceful meditation upon the church and what it has meant in my life. I look at the beads awaiting further work and think of these as representations of our growing and changing - always ready for further refining or as I look at them as a whole I think of building blocks, all so individual yet so necessary to the whole. Anyhow, enough reminiscing for now."

Fun, Work, Disneyland and Fibromyalgia

Blogs, Lampwork, Beads, Glass, Dichroic, Jewelry, Life: "Time just passes so fast. I am still busy with orders. Thank you. Thank you.
Lots of fun new ideas in the make and some great variations on some of the old. What a time. I love the new colors that I have been working with and I can't wait to share them with you.
Has anybody been to Disneyland lately? I am thinking of going there for my birthday in a couple of weeks if the weather is nice. Any suggestions on the best place to stay? I have to go to Marina del Rey anyhow to see my fibromyalgia doctor Dr. St. Amand."

Borosilicate Glass Beads and Jewelry

Blogs, Lampwork, Beads, Glass, Dichroic, Jewelry, Life: "Communicated with four different clients to collaborate on some beads and pendants for their designs. It is quite exciting to work with people with such wonderfully diverse ideas for their jewelry and accessories. Thank you all for helping to support me as an artist. I really appreciate it.
I made a kiln full of beads for a client today and experimented with a couple of new ideas using borosilicate glass. It's surely busy now with people getting ready for Christmas - and the rush is on. Hmmmmmm, do I like that.
After spending a very busy day yesterday on my business, I had an exciting evening also with my S.O. We went shopping at Costco - such excitement and then went to Porky's to eat and listen to some music. Some of it were quite similar to Jimmy Hendrix (that is surely some great music)."

San Joaquin Clay and Glass Association and the Bead Society of Los Angeles

Blogs, Lampwork, Beads, Glass, Dichroic, Jewelry, Life: "Had an extremely busy two days. I've made beads and jewelry both days along with keeping correspondence up to date.
Tonight I went to the monthly meeting of the San Joaquin Clay and Glass Association. We are having a sale at the Lutheran Redeemer Church on November 19th in Fresno. We put labels on the postcards. We also discussed such issues as having a central cashier instead of us each handling our own sales - very poor idea.
Next weekend I have a sale in Culver City at the Veteran's Auditorium. I still haven't a room reservation. I went on Priceline Monday night; but I did not get the price I wanted. I'll try again late Thursday evening. If I have to get the price much higher I might as well buy the room from the company website. Then, I can have the option of changing the room if I need to without penalty. "
